Main Features
Drop Down Menus in the The DMX Controlled Fixture Type Data Box

The DMX Chart distinguishes two different types of fixtures; 1) DMX Controlled Fixture types which would include fixture types like your movers, scrollers, foggers, or atmosphere, and 2) Conventional fixture types like an ETC Source Four Par.

The Input Tab is where you enter into The DMX Chart, each of your fixture types specific details, both DMX controlled fixture types, and conventional fixture types. It is also where you define your chart settings.

The three Input Data Boxes

The DMX Controlled & Conventional data box, The DMX Controlled Fixture Type data box,
and The Conventional Fixture Type data box

The DMX Controlled & Conventional data box consists of the Show Name Drop Down Menu, the Position Drop Down Menu, and The Dimmer Specs Drop Down Menu; along with the unit number field, and the notes field. These are the only fields that both types of fixture types (DMX Controlled and Conventional) have in common. Because of this, the DMX Controlled & Conventional data box must always be answered in addition to either the DMX Controlled Fixture Type data box, or the Conventional Fixture Type data box.

The DMX Controlled Fixture Type data box contains fields that are specific only to all fixture types that are controlled by DMX data. For example: your movers, your scrollers, and your foggers. This data box must be answered along with the DMX Controlled & Conventional data box.

The Conventional Fixture Type data box contains fields that are specific only to fixture types that are NOT controlled by DMX data. For example: an ETC source 4 19 degree light. This data box must be answered along with the DMX Controlled & Conventional data box.

The DMX Controlled Fixture Type Drop Down Menu is a list of your DMX controlled fixture type manufacturers, and your favorites list (listed under the By Manufacturer). It comes with a few defaults that you can either keep or delete. Anything you add to or delete from this drop down menu will be remembered for every chart you create there after.

The Gobo in Moving Light Drop Down Menu:
When you are entering in moving lights in the DMX Controlled Fixture Types data box on The Input Tab, and you need to document that a specific mover has a custom gobo in it. You can do so by selecting the Custom Gobos for Moving Lights drop down menu. If you have never documented the custom gobo before, you can select the Add New button from the Custom Gobos for Moving Lights drop down menu. The Add New button will bring up a dialog box where you can name the custom gobo, document what fixture type it goes into, document what type of wheel it goes into (color, static, or rotating), document what wheel position it goes into, and upload an image of the gobo. Anything you add to or delete from this drop down menu will be remembered for every chart you create there after.

The Custom Scroll String Drop Down Menu is a place for you to document the custom scroll string names that your DMX controlled fixture types use. When you add new Custom Scroll String names to your chart, by the Add New button you can also define the custom scroll strings gel frames in the Custom Scroll String Library. Anything you add to or delete from this drop down menu will be remembered for every chart you create there after.

The customizable data field can be anything you wish it to be. It will only be displayed on The DMX Controlled Fixture Types spreadsheet. For example, let's say you want to keep track of your power distro units and what's plugged into them. You can name the customizable field power distro number, and when you go to input, for instance, a VL3500 spot moving light, you can then document what power distro unit number and plug number that moving light draws power from.
